Extend Your Peace of Mind

Protect your mobility product for longer with an iCAN Mobility Extended Warranty

Your mobility product is an important part of your independence, so having reliable protection in place can provide valuable peace of mind.

With an iCAN Mobility Extended Warranty, you can extend the protection on eligible mobility scooters, powerchairs, wheelchairs and other mobility products beyond the original manufacturer’s warranty period.

Depending on the product and warranty option selected, cover may be extended for up to four additional years on a yearly basis.

How an iCAN Mobility Extended Warranty Works

Most eligible iCAN Mobility products are supplied with a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty from the date of purchase or delivery.

An Extended Warranty is designed to continue your warranty protection after the original manufacturer’s warranty has ended.

For example, where a product includes a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty, your Extended Warranty would normally begin immediately after those first 12 months have expired.

This means you can continue using your mobility product with the reassurance that qualifying mechanical and electrical faults remain covered for longer.

What Does an Extended Warranty Cover?

Coverage will depend on the product and the warranty purchased, but eligible claims may include:

  • Manufacturing defects

  • Mechanical faults

  • Electrical faults

  • Faulty control units or handsets

  • Faulty chargers

  • Replacement of covered components

  • Labour required to complete an approved warranty repair

  • Engineer attendance where practical

  • Collection and return of the product where an off-site repair is required

Any repair, collection or engineer visit must be authorised by iCAN Mobility before work is undertaken.

What Is Not Covered?

An Extended Warranty is intended to protect against qualifying faults and defects. It is not a maintenance contract or insurance policy.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, the warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Tyres, inner tubes and other consumable items

  • Batteries where deterioration is caused by normal use, age or incorrect charging

  • Cosmetic damage

  • Accidental damage

  • Misuse, neglect or abuse

  • Water or liquid damage

  • Damage caused by incorrect storage

  • Damage caused by exceeding the product's stated weight capacity

  • Damage caused by unauthorised modifications

  • Damage caused by repairs carried out by an unauthorised person

  • Routine servicing or maintenance

  • Loss or theft of the product

  • Damage caused by failure to follow the manufacturer's operating or maintenance instructions

iCAN Mobility will not be responsible for repair charges or other costs incurred without our prior authorisation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I purchase an Extended Warranty?

Extended Warranty options may be available when purchasing an eligible product from iCAN Mobility.

We may ask you to provide:

  • Your name and contact details

  • Your original order number

  • The product model

  • The product serial number

  • The original purchase or delivery date

We will then confirm whether your product is eligible and explain the warranty options available.

Which products can be covered?

Extended Warranty options may be available on selected:

  • Mobility scooters

  • Powerchairs

  • Electric wheelchairs

  • Manual wheelchairs

  • Walking aids

  • Other eligible mobility products

The maximum warranty period available may vary depending on the type of product.

For selected mobility scooters and powerchairs, protection may be available for up to one additional year following the original manufacturer's warranty. Then year to year thereafter.

Please contact us for confirmation of the cover available for your particular product.

When does my Extended Warranty start?

Unless stated otherwise, your Extended Warranty begins immediately after the original manufacturer's warranty expires. Subject to payment.

For example, if your product has a 12-month manufacturer's warranty, the Extended Warranty would normally begin at the end of month 12.

Your Extended Warranty documentation will confirm the exact start and expiry dates.

Can I purchase an Extended Warranty after buying my product?

In many cases, yes.

Eligibility may depend on:

  • The age of the product

  • Its condition

  • The date it was purchased

  • Its service and maintenance history

  • Whether the original warranty has already expired

We reserve the right to inspect a product before accepting it for Extended Warranty cover.

Contact iCAN Mobility and we will confirm whether your product is eligible.

What happens if my original warranty has already expired?

We may still be able to offer Extended Warranty protection, depending on the age and condition of the product.

We may require the product to be inspected before cover can be offered.

Please contact our team with your product details and we will advise you of the options available.

Is an Extended Warranty the same as insurance?

No.

An Extended Warranty primarily provides protection against qualifying mechanical, electrical and manufacturing faults.

It does not normally provide protection against events such as:

  • Accidental damage

  • Theft

  • Loss

  • Vandalism

If you require protection against these risks, you should consider taking out a suitable mobility insurance policy separately.

What should I do if my product develops a fault?

Please contact iCAN Mobility before arranging any repair yourself.

Our team may initially carry out troubleshooting with you by telephone, email or video.

Where necessary, we may arrange for:

  • Replacement parts to be supplied

  • An engineer to attend

  • The product to be returned to us or an authorised repair centre

Please do not arrange repairs through a third party without our written authorisation, as unauthorised work may not be reimbursed and could affect your warranty.
